Cherry Sky

Rarely do I know what I’m going to paint when I get started. Even in the early stages of the painting, I am often surprised at the direction my hand takes like in this painting of a cherry blossom tree against a cherry sky. It’s the most magical element of the creative process for me … the element of surprise:

Rugged Faceoff

Though  sandy beaches are fine, I much prefer a shoreline covered in cold and hard slate … big boulders forced into shape, being slapped by high waves.

Valentine’s Day

Though Valentine’s Day is next Monday, I wanted to illustrate and paint an e-Valentine card to celebrate love and offer it to you as a gift. It’s not meant so much for romantic love, this e-Valentine is symbolic of all kinds of love. Feel free to download and use it to send someone you care about. I only ask that you keep my info at the bottom in tact.

Valentine’s Day has always been a special day … not because of what it stands for most people. It was my Mother’s birthday who passed away last June. Drifting Alone

I haven’t painted water or boat scenes in awhile … seems I’ve been doing a lot of landscapes (mostly trees) in recent months. Today, I found my way back to water

Let It Snow!

I’m in a snowy mood … white flurries on a cold day! Reminds me of playing and making angels in the snow. It’s raining here in Vegas … just not the same

In Seclusion

Retreating into the silence of the soul, it is easy to ponder a secluded cabin in the mountains. Winter is a time for reflection and allowing the old to fall graciously away.

Winter’s Dream

Though I am in Las Vegas for the holidays, I’m missing the snow happening back home. So, today, I painted it to remind me of how much I love winter. I love the starkness of the season, the soft blanket of beauty keeping everything beneath protected and in hibernation. Tis’ the season for a winter’s dream:

Pink Moon

It’s been awhile since I’ve sat down to paint art. I’ve been engaged in other activities that have kept me busy. This is a painting I actually started some time ago and didn’t finish. Feels good to finish it!

Fall Foliage

Been painting all morning instead of doing things that need to be done. When I’m inspired to paint, I must paint. Today, it’s all about splashing and spraying fall foliage onto dark tree trunks.The ground catches some of the color as the leaves begin to fall.
